This time of year always seems to spur retrospectives and sentimental reactions to things that may otherwise seem benign. So, following the rules of the season, I’ve decided to post a few past examples of the Shipley-Green Family Christmas Card Art—starting with 2006. ‘06 is the first in the series because I no longer have any easily accessible files from 2005 or earlier.
As many of you know, there are two rules for the annual card. 1) I draw the picture and 2) it must feature some strange rendition of Jezebelle. Beyond that, I usually try to come up with some kind of concept or theme that relates to where we’ve been or what we’ve been up to. 2006 was our second Christmas in Chicago. As I recall, we still found the city to be exciting. One of my favorite parts about this drawing are the stars. Enjoy. And as always, thanks for visiting.
