I’ve always been one of those people who visits a place and immediately wants to move there. With the exception of Florida. I’ve been there multiple times and all I ever wanted to do was get out.
So rather than running the risk of planning a vacation to an exotic new destination and fighting the urge to relocate, we spent the last week revisiting a few of our former metropolitan areas. Kansas City and then on to Chicago. We walked familiar paths and ate our favorite, familiar foods. We recapped and reconciled. We were reminded what we liked about the cities and what we didn’t.
It’s good to be home. Especially because we’re new around here. We haven’t been residents long enough to know much—but please stay tuned for further exploration.
I’ve always been endlessly intrigued by Chicago’s fire escapes. While most are trying to get a good picture of the front of a building, I’m usually standing next to the dumpster trying to get a shot of the back.
